Welcome to the Elko Band CHR/IHHA Program Website. Below is a brief description of the CHR Program and the services the program can offer to community members who are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe.
The CHR Program was established by Congress in 1968, in response to an expressed need of an AI/AN government, organization, and IHS outreach health component to meet the health care needs of the Native Americans.
My name is LaLovi Fisherman; I am the CHR for Elko Band Council. I have worked for my tribe off and on for 14 years.
Listed below is what we can offer:
Transport clients to and from scheduled appointments.
Schedule and transport clients, who have a referral from Southern Band Health Center and have no other transportation resource, out of town.
Pick up medication for patients if they have no transportation.
The CHR does Home Visits, which include: Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and Medications check. We call them in when refills are needed and also monitor the patient. Report emergencies.
The In-Home-Health-Aide provides services to the elderly and homebound communities. They do light housecleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing etc. Report emergencies.
We also do Monthly Outreaches to the community on Health Prevention.
